People who have traveled a lot around the world, but chose Russia as a place to live

Nikolay and Valentina

Nikolai and Valentina were born and raised in the Odessa region during the Soviet era, a time when no one categorized people as either Russian or Ukrainian. In 1991–1992, Nikolai was offered a job in Canada; the couple relocated there, lived and worked in the country for a long time, and are now Canadian citizens.

In November 2013, a coup d'état took place in Ukraine, plunging the country into chaos. From that moment on, their lives changed drastically. They found themselves being drawn into a whirlwind of anti-Russian politics and pressured to participate in various events linked to the events in Ukraine—events that promoted anti-Russian propaganda.

By 2018, the situation had worsened. They decided to leave Canada for good. In September 2018, they moved to Italy, but found no peace there either. Europe’s economic decline, frequent power outages, and open hostility from the public prompted their decision to move to the Russian Federation.

In late 2025, they made the final decision to relocate; they chose the Vladimir region after learning about the "City of Good" and decided to return to their own world for good. They moved in February 2026, purchased an apartment in Dobrograd, and began the paperwork process.
